The standard

How the PnL World Rating turns a finishing place into points. Every number on this page comes from the live rating and was last checked on 6 November 2026.

PnL World Rating (PWR) is a points rating. A trader earns points each time they finish a rated tournament, and their PWR is the sum of every rated finish. There is no decay: points never expire.

Each finish is scored with one formula:

points = format weight × place share × field strength

Format weight

The format sets the points for first place. A longer format is a longer test, so it carries more weight.

Place share

Every trader who finishes a rated tournament earns points. The place decides what share of the format weight they receive.

Field strength

Field strength scales every result by how hard the tournament was to win. It rises with three things:

  • The rating of the opponents. Finishing ahead of higher-rated traders is worth more.
  • The share of verified opponents. Traders confirmed as real, unique people make a field count in full.
  • The size of the field. A small field is scaled down; a large field counts in full.

An example

A trader finishes 3rd in a Weekly tournament. The format weight is 250 and 3rd place earns 45% of it, so before field strength the finish is worth 113 points. Field strength then scales that number up or down according to who was in the room.

How the place is decided

  • The place follows the tournament result: the final return after trading fees and funding. Open positions at the end are valued as if closed at that moment, including the exit fee.
  • On an equal result, the smaller maximum drawdown ranks higher. If that is equal too, the earlier entry ranks higher.
  • A trader who makes no trades finishes on 0%.
  • Liquidated accounts rank below every account that was not liquidated. An account counts as liquidated only when a liquidation leaves it without enough to open even the smallest order allowed at that table. A liquidated finish is still a rated result.

Divisions and Inactive

After five rated finishes a trader is placed in a division. A trader with no rated finish for 180 days is marked Inactive until their next rated finish. Their points stay.

The public rankings

The world rankings list traders with a rated finish. A confirmed phone number earns the verified mark: one person, one rating. Verification is private, and the rankings show only the name a trader chose.

When rules change

Changes are announced with the date they take effect. Finished tournaments keep the rules in force when they were held. The binding text is the official rules on PnL World.
